Do atheists celebrate Christmas?
do atheists celebrate Christmas?
Christmas is a tradition revolved around the
concept of god, so do atheists celebrate it, and if so, isn't that ever
so slightly hypocritical?
Celebrating a tradition born from the very
concept atheists refuse to believe to me is slightly hypocritical. But,
who am I to make that accusation, I celebrate it, I'm not a Christian .
. .
I suppose it's like St. Patrick's day, I could join in the celebrations if I choose, doesn't mean I care who this Patrick was...
This has now become a major flaw in my head towards my belief that Christianity is flawed...
If
I, as someone who doesn't believe much into Christianity, and you, as
an atheist, celebrate Christmas, fully aware that we think the concept
from which it was born is a lie, should we even want to celebrate it?
How
many Islam traditions do we celebrate? how many Hindu traditions? they
are in our country but we ignore them . . . yet celebrate the very
traditions we deem to be false . . .
I
think the concept of Christmas is one of those things that has evolved
over the years into something completely different from when it was
created.
Christmas in today's society is a fraud, it's just a cash cow and an excuse to get drunk and eat more food.
I can't remember the last time I had a Christmas and actually cast a thought towards our 'lord and saviour' jesus.
probably around the time I was expelled from school . . .

The reason you can't remember casting a thought toward our Lord and Saviour is beacaue you are not Christain.. Non-Christians celebrate Christmas to get presents, food, and days off work.. Christians celebrate for those reasons as well, but OUR MAIN reason and the most important reason is to remember Jesus's birth and life.. I do think about Jesus on Christmas because I am Christian.. A non-Christian doesn't really have enough information to say that "Christmas is fraud" and that noone celebrates the real meaning, because non-Christians have a totally different mindset..
that's all
that's all

I come from a Christian family, I just chose to see the obvious flaws in it. I worship the planet itself and nature...

I don't get why a lot of Christians hate Jews when Jesus was a Jew XD
Re: do atheists celebrate Christmas?
Jesus was a Jew, but current day Jews belive that Jessu was just a person, and not the Son of God.. not that Christians hate Jews, but that may be why they disagree with them...
