Faith is challenged to prove who has it.. If faith was never challenged, everyone would be "strong in faith"

The moon was created by a huge asteroid hitting the Earth, and the chuncks stuck together, and fell into the orbit of the Earth.

Main is right. Since there are trillions of other stars, and alot more planets/chunks of rock.. Then there has to be a huge amount of other lifeforms out there. Some maybe even smarter then us.

Im going to try and ask the same questions here that I did on Stacks.
Why do you believe in Christiananity, what you think of it?

Also.

What is god to you?
Is he a invisible force? Alien? What?

I get confused over this. Can you answer those?

Radar, you said this. but He uses signs ans experiences to "talk" to us.. a rainbow is a sign He uses, it's a covenant meaning He will never end creation with water again..
A rainbow is created by light being reflected off water. ?
You can make one by spraying a hose in a sunny day.

Yes, dak, a rainbow is created the way you said above, not disagreeing.. but I was just saying what the Bible teaches, Rainbow = Covenant, that's all, just an example, I wasn't saying it's magic or anything, however, light reflecting off water wouldn't make a rainbow if not for God... don't you think if He wanted He could change history and science so that light reflecting off water DOESN'T make a rainbow? True, there is a science to explain everything, and we gradually learn more about that science, but God created the science behind everything, and He has known what we know since the beginning, so when you say any scientific fact.. I believe that fact is the HOW, not the what or the why.. by that I mean, God created Earth right.. and there is a reason why He did that right.. but the HOW might be scientific (Big Bang..), so maybe, God used the Big Bang that we have learned about to create the Earth, instead of the Earth just appearing, maybe God said "Let there be Land" and then... BIG BANG, there's land.. ok I'm done now, kinda went off for a minute...

Answering your other question: God is not an alien to me.. Invisible force would be more accurate, but to me, God is a Holy Spirit, a Divine Power, not a physical being (until we get to Heaven maybe, then who knows, He may have a form), He is omnipresent (meaning He is everywhere at once, with you helping you, while at the same time with me helping me)..

100% agree. Check out this site. It gives 5 sort-of proofs of God's existence.

But, with faith, you can't have real proofs. These are just to help people have that faith.

The Big Bang - Page 2 Empty Re: The Big Bang

Post by Natz Wed Mar 04, 2009 2:05 pm

Oh no, not this thread again, i can go on forever about this xD
I believe in God, and I am christian
anyways, i found a perfect arcticle about this, i dont want to argue about this, you guys can believe whatever you like

The big bang is usually defined as a
random, chance event. Some instability supposedly developed in an
original “kernel” of mass energy, and the universe then ballooned
outward. However, scripture clearly rules out such an accidental
origin. A modified view of the big bang theory says that when the
explosive event happened, it was directed by God. This is called
theistic evolution and is an attempt to compromise the Bible with
long-age evolutionary theories. It is rejected by many creationists
because of its conflict with the order of events in Genesis. The
following chart contrasts some of the chronological discrepancies
between the Bible’s creation account and the big bang theory.

scripture Big Bang
All elements made together Elements beyond hydrogen and helium formed after millions of years
Earth formed before stars Earth formed long after the stars
Plants formed before the sun Plants evolved after the sun
Birds created before reptiles, mammals Birds evolved from reptiles
Sun formed on the fourth day, after the earth Sun formed before the earth
Sun, moon, and stars formed together Sun formed from older stars

Creationists maintain that in the beginning God spoke and the earth appeared--he commanded and the heavens stood firm (Ps. 33:9)!
All the many stars appeared suddenly and supernaturally in space.
scripture does not imply an explosion, although the universe must have
experienced a sudden, “explosive” input of ordered energy. Perhaps some
astronomical data that seems supportive of the big bang theory, such as
redshift and background radiation, needs to be looked at instead as
evidence of a rapid creation. Once secular variation of the big bang
theory refers to an “inflationary” big bang, the suggestion being that
the universe developed and matured very quickly in its first moments.
In this particular theory, secular science seems to have taken one step
in the creationist direction. Further developments should be of
interest in this area of theory and research.
The big bang
as it is understood today is an inadequate theory. There are many
fundamental problems that are seldom mentioned in popular literature.
Some of the “missing links” in the theory are:

<li>
Missing Origin:
The big bang theory assumes an original concentration of energy. Where
did this energy come from? Astronomers sometimes speak of an origin
from a “quantum mechanical fluctuation within a vacuum.” However, in
the big bang theory, no vacuum existed before the explosion. Actually
there is no consistent secular origin theory, since every idea is based on preexisting matter or energy.</li><li>
Missing Fuse:
What ignited the big bang? The mass concentration proposed in this
theory would remain forever bound as a universal black hole. Gravity
would prevent it from ever expanding outward.</li><li>
Missing Star Formation:
No natural way has been found to explain the formation of planets,
stars, and galaxies. An explosion should produce, at best, an outward
spray of gas and radiation. This gas should continue expanding, not
form intricate planets, stars, and entire galaxies.</li><li>
Missing Antimatter:
Some versions of the big bang theory require the equal production of
matter and antimatter. However, only small traces of
antimatter-positrons and antiprotons, for example-are found in space.</li><li>
Missing Time:
Some experiments indicate that the universe may be young, on the order
of 10,000 years old. If true, then there is not sufficient time for the
consequences of the big bang theory to unfold. A short time span will
not allow for the gradual evolution of the stars or life on Earth.</li><li>
Missing Mass:
Many scientists assume that the universe will eventually stop expanding
and begin to collapse inward. Then it will again explode and repeat its
oscillating type of perpetual motion. This idea is an effort to avoid
an origin and destiny for the universe. For oscillation to occur,
however, the universe must have a certain density or distribution of
mass. The Big Bang - Page 2 Space-dish1So
far, measurements of the mass density are 100 times smaller than
expected. In fact there are indications that the universe is accelerating
outward instead of slowing down. The universe does not appear to be
oscillating. The necessary mass or “dark matter” is “missing.”</li><li>
Missing Life:
In an evolving universe, life should have developed everywhere. Space
should be filled with radio signals from intelligent life forms. Where
is everybody?</li><li>
Missing Neutrinos:
These small particles should flood the earth from the sun’s fusion
process. The small number detected raises questions about the sun’s
energy source and man’s overall understanding of the universe. How then
can science speak about “origins” with any authority?</li>

The Big Bang - Page 2 Empty Re: The Big Bang

Post by Rikazu Wed Mar 04, 2009 3:50 pm

Im going to try and answer all those myself..
There is no way god could exist. >_>

Missing Time:
Some experiments indicate that the universe may be young, on the order
of 10,000 years old. If true, then there is not sufficient time for the
consequences of the big bang theory to unfold. A short time span will
not allow for the gradual evolution of the stars or life on Earth.</li><li>

The universe is not 10000 years old, yet humans have evolved up to 100000 years ago. There are also rocks called "Stromolites" that are more then a billion years old.

Missing Fuse:
What ignited the big bang? The mass concentration proposed in this
theory would remain forever bound as a universal black hole. Gravity
would prevent it from ever expanding outward.</li><li>

A invisible force such as god could not have made the fuse. We can only wonder what there was before that tiny atom exploded.

Missing Star Formation:
No natural way has been found to explain the formation of planets,
stars, and galaxies. An explosion should produce, at best, an outward
spray of gas and radiation. This gas should continue expanding, not
form intricate planets, stars, and entire galaxies.</li><li>

When atoms hit together and combine, they form compounds. Those compounds can make stars. The rock that formed the millions of planets in the universe.. I dont know yet.

Missing Mass:
Many scientists assume that the universe will eventually stop expanding
and begin to collapse inward. Then it will again explode and repeat its
oscillating type of perpetual motion. This idea is an effort to avoid
an origin and destiny for the universe. For oscillation to occur,
however, the universe must have a certain density or distribution of
mass. So
far, measurements of the mass density are 100 times smaller than
expected. In fact there are indications that the universe is accelerating
outward instead of slowing down. The universe does not appear to be
oscillating. The necessary mass or “dark matter” is “missing.”</li><li>

Yes, the universe is expanding. The part you said there is one of the theories, that the big crunch will happen. But if that part does, another big bang cant happen. Crunching everything will form a giant black hole..
The other theory is that the universe keeps expanding forever, and eventually leads to the entire universe freezing. The stars will eventually all blow up and become smaller and smaller until there is none left. I have also heard that the universe will accelerate so fast it rips the fabric of time, :/

Missing Life:
In an evolving universe, life should have developed everywhere. Space
should be filled with radio signals from intelligent life forms. Where
is everybody?</li><li>

What kind of question is that.. The univer is HUGE. Life existed on Mars, and definetly to thousands of other planets out there. We cannot find them because the technology doesnt reach out so far.

Missing Neutrinos:
These small particles should flood the earth from the sun’s fusion
process. The small number detected raises questions about the sun’s
energy source and man’s overall understanding of the universe. How then
can science speak about “origins” with any authority?</li>

Never have learned about that, I cannot give my own answer.
